WEDNESDAY DAILY REPORT

NO RAIN TODAY.
MOSTLY CLOUDY AND  HIGH OF 60.
SUNNY TOMORROW AND MID 60'S.

THE UNION REPRESENTING 27 JACKSON COUNTY SECONDARY ROAD EMPLOYEES IS ASKING FOR A 6 PERCENT PAY RAISE, ANNUALLY FOR 3  YEARS.   THE SUPERVISORS WILL MAKE THEIR COUNTER OFFER OCTOBER 27TH.

THE MAQUOKETA HOSPTIAL HAS A NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, PENNY SOUCI, STARTING OCTOBER 22ND.   SHE REPLACES NANCY KOHRT WHO
WILL RETIRE, BUT STAY ON AWHILE TO INSURE A SMOOTH TRANSITION.
SOUCI HAS MANY YEARS EXPERIENCE.   SHE HAS A BACHELORS DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND IS ALSO A C.P.A.

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD HAS APPROVED TWO TRIPS FOR CLUB HOPE STUDENTS.    THE 2015 TRIP TO THE AMAZON AND ANOTHER TRIP TO THE SAME AREA IN 2016.   ALSO A ONE-DAY TRIP TO MINNEAPOLIS THIS NOVEMBER 11TH.

THIS COUNTRY SINGER WILL PUT ON A ONE-HOUR CONCERT THIS FRIDAY AT 10 A.M. AND 1:30 P.M. AT OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER, WITH A $1 ADMISSION.   GOOGLE OHNWARD FOR MORE  ABOUT HIM.

WAYNE MEYER, AGE 83, OF MAQUOKETA DIED MONDAY AT A DUBUQUE HOSPITAL.   HE FARMED FOR 37 YEARS AT RURAL PRESTON, THEN MOVED TO MAQUOKETA AND WORKED FOR AG VANTAGE.   HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE DORA AND ONE SON AND A DAUGHTER, JULIE TIES OF MAQUOKETA.   LAW JONES FUNERAL HOME IN PRESTON IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.

ROSA CHRISTIANSEN, AGE 109, FORMERLY OF MILES, DIED MONDAY AT A MORRISON NURSING HOME.    SHE AND HER HUSBAND FARMED THEIR ENTIRE MARRIED LIFE NEAR MILES.
