AGAIN...NO SUN TODAY AND HIGH ONLY OF 54.

RED HENTON WAS THE GUEST SPEAKER AT ROTARY TODAY....DID A NICE JOB...
LOTS OF FUNNY LINES. THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY IS HAVING A BIG CONSIGNMENT SALE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.

JACKSON COUNTY HAS BROKEN ITS OWN ABSENTEE BALLOT RECORD AND ELECTION DAY IS STILL A WAYS OFF. AUDITOR MIKE COTTON SAID THE COUNTY RECORD OF 2,381....AND SO FAR THIS YEAR, THE TOTAL HAS GONE OVER 2,400.

DEVELOPER CHRIS ALES APPEARED BEFORE THE CITY COUNCIL MONDAY NIGHT.
HE IS STILL WORKING ON PROJECT TO CONVERT THE HURST HOTEL INTO 22 SENIOR APARTMENTS.

CLAYTON AND LAURI HELM OF TACOMA, WASHINGTON, ARE PARENTS OF A GIRL, BORN OCT. 8TH IN TACOMA. GRANDPARENTS ARE DON AND ELIZABETH MILLER OF MAQUOKETA.

LAST NIGHT, NANCY AND I DROVE THE NEW, WINDING IRON BRIDGE ROAD TO SPRAGUEVILLE, OVER THE NEW IRON BRIDGE....AND HAD A SANDWICH AT "POTSY'S BAR AND GRILL" IN DOWNTOWN SPRAGUEVILLE. I HAD THE MARTY BURGER....THEIR FEATURE SANDWICH. THE BIGGEST
HAMBURGER ANYWHERE....ITS 4 INCHES TALL...AND DELICIOUS, WITH BACON AND CHEESE, AND ONLY $4. I ATE THE WHOLE THING. NANCY, IN STEP WITH OCTOBER PORK MONTH, HAD A PORK TENDERLOIN. NICE LITTLE JACKSON COUNTY TOWN. A FEW OF THE LOCALS WERE THERE ENJOYING A MILLER LITE, AS I DID...OR A DIET PEPSI.

KMAQ IS BUSY WITH LOTS OF POLITICAL SPOTS AND ST. LOUIS CARDINALS PLAY-OFF BASEBALL.
THE CARDINALS NEED TO WIN TODAY. I THINK THEY WILL.

TAKE CARE EVERYONE.
