OVER THE WEEKEND, MAQUOKETA GOT 1.6 INCHS OF RAIN.
TODAY, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND HIGH OF 63. THE REST OF THE WEEK, LOOKS LIKE WE WILL HAVE PRETTY NICE WEATHER.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT.

A JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTY, KEVIN SCOTT OF MAQUOKETA, HAS BEEN FIRED. SHERIFF KETTMAN SAID HE TERMINATED THE EMPLOYMENT LAST WEDNESDAY AND DECLINED TO PROVIDE DETAILS OF THE FIRING, OTHER THAN TO SAY IT WAS A PERSONNEL ISSUE. SCOTT HAS BEEN A DEPUTY FOR SIX YEARS FOR THE COUNTY.

A BIRTH: ERIC AND DR. JENNI GERLACH THOME OF BLOOMINGTON, ILLINOIS, ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN TUESDAY IN BLOOMINGTON. MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS ARE STEVE AND CAROL LUCKE OF MAQUOKETA.

HOMECOMING IS OCTOBER 3RD IN MAQUOKETA, AGAINST DEWITT. AND THAT WEEKEND, THE MHS CLASS OF 1958 WILL HAVE THEIR 50TH CLASS REUNION.
THAT MEANS, QUITE A FEW OF THAT PRETTY GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM THAT YEAR WILL BE HOME FOR HOMECOMING. SHOULD BE A FUN WEEKEND.

COME ON HOME FOR HOMECOMING!

THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN LAST FRIDAY AFTERNOON. AND, OVER THE WEEKEND, DESPITE OVER AN INCH OF RAIN, VOLUNTEERS HELPED SCHUELLER AND SONS GET THE WALLS UP AND THE ROOF ON. BELOW, THE PHOTO I TOOK THIS (MONDAY)
MORNING. WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE WEEKEND MADE.
