88 today...the heat goes on.

CASEY'S...THE NEW CONVENIENCE STORE, IS HAVING GRAND OPENING TODAY AND TOMOROW TO HEAVY TRAFFIC....WE DID REMOTE BROADCASTS ON KMAQ BETWEEN 4 AND 6 THIS AFTERNOON.
ALL KINDS OF FOOD SPECIALS....INCLUDING A LARGE PIZZA FOR UNDER $7.

A JACKSON COUNTY SQUAD CAR WEDNESDAY HT A RACOON. DEPUTY KEVIN SCOTT WAS DRIVING AND HAD TO SHOOT THE ANIMAL AND THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE CAR.

CLYDE ALLEN, 92, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED YESTERDAY. HIS OBITUARY CAN BE READ AT

THE NEW OHNWARD BANK OFFICE BUILDING IS FINISHED AND EMPLOYEES MOVED IN THIS WEEK.
OHNWARD OWNS MAQUOKETA STATE BANK AND SEVERAL OTHERS IN AREA. LONGTIME OWNERS ED TUBBS AND JOHN FAGERLAND BOTH HAVE AN OFFICE IN THE NEW BUILDING. I HAVE NOT SEEN THE INSIDE YET, BUT OUTSIDE LOOKS VERY NICE. IT IS JUST EAST OF KELLAMS AND BERTCH HEATING AND AIR-CONDITIONING ON EAST QUARRY, ON A CORNER LOT WHERE A HOUSE WAS TORN DOWN TO MAKE WAY FOR THE BUILDING. ON THE CORNER ACROSS THE STREET, THE TELEPHONE OFFICE BUILDING.

THE WYOMING, IOWA FAIR STARTS TONIGHT WITH THE 6:30 PARADE, WHICH KMAQ WILL AGAIN BROADCAST.
IT CONTINUES TOMORROW AND SUNDAY. THE FIRST COUNTY FAIR STARTS NEXT WEDNESDAY, THE CEDAR COUNTY FAIR IN TIPTON.
