NANCY WAGONER, BRIGGS 3RD GRADE TEACHER.

FRANCES HAMILTON ROMER, AGE 105, DIED SATURDAY AT THE MAQUOKETA CARE CENTER. FRANCES AND HER HUSBAND RAY OPERATED HAMILTON'S LADIES
APPAREL ON THE CORNER OF MAIN AND PLATT FOR MANY YEARS. THE STORE
WAS HERE WHEN KMAQ WENT ON-THE-AIR IN 1958. AFTER RAY DIED, SHE
RAN THE STORE ALONE UNTIL SHE SOLD IT IN 1973. HER SECOND HUSBAND
WAS A MAQUOKETA LAWYER, LESTER ROMER. I DID NOT REALIZE WE HAD
SOMEONE IN MAQUOKETA THAT OLD. IN THE EARLIER DAYS, I KNEW FRANCIS
AS SHE ADVERTISED HER BUSINESS ON KMAQ.

HOST SOLON TONIGHT IN THE NEW GYM AND THE CARDINAL WRESTLERS
HOST ANAMOSA TONIGHT IN THE OLD HIGH SCHOOL GYM. PAUL KOOB
