BEAUTIFUL DAY...HIGH OF 62.
HOSPICE OF JACKSON COUNTY HAS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN USING THE ANDREW JACKSON CARE FACILITY NEAR ANDREW. THIS WAS LEARNED THIS MORNING AT THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVIORS MEETING.
THE SUPERVISORS WILL HAVE A WORK SESSION WITH THE HOSPICE BOARD NEXT MONDAY MORNING, AT 8:30. AN ARCHITECT WITH DURANT IN DUBUQUE WAS AT THE SUPERVIORS MEETING THIS MORNING AND IN A LETTER TO LISA MELLOY OF HOSPICE, HE SAID IT WOULD COST UP TO $250,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE FACILITY BEFORE IT COULD BE USED. FOR ONE THING, ROOMS NOW DO NOT HAVE A TOILET AND THERE WOULD NEED TO BE ONE IN EACH ROOM. AND TO MEET VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS, TEMPERED OUTDOOR AIR WOULD NEED TO BE ADDED TO EACH ROOM. THE SUPERVIORS WILL LEARN MORE ABOUT THE IDEA MONDAY MORNING. IF IT CAME TO BE, IT WOULD CERTAINLY BE A LARGE HOSPICE FACILITY. THE SUPERVIORS HAVE THE VACANT BUILDING FOR SALE. IT HAS NOT BEEN USED SINCE THE CARE FACILITY CLOSED LAST YEAR.
