WAS SLIGHTLY UNDER 10,000 (67%) AND SHORT OF A RECORD. ABSENTEE BALLOTS WERE A RECORD THOUGH, AND COUNTING OF THOSE TOOK UNTIL 11:30 LAST NIGHT.
TWO FIRES TODAY. MAQUOKETA FIREMEN HAD A BUSY MORNING. AT 7:30 A.M. THE CALL WAS FOR A BALER ON FIRE AT THE BRIAN WATTERS FARM AND AT 9 THIS MORNNG, A GRAIN DRYER CAUGHT ON FIRE AT THE MIKE MCLAUGHLIN FARM.
MAQUOKETA VOTERS IN THE FIRST WARD WILL GO TO THE POLLS AGAIN....ON DECEMBER 16TH, TO ELECT A NEW COUNCIL PERSON FROM THAT WARD.
