NICE SUNNY DAY..HIGH OF 40.

MAQUOKETA BOYS HOST MANCHESTER WEST DELAWARE TONIGHT AND THE GIRLS PLAY UP THERE.

THE LOCAL PRESIDENT OF US BANK IN MAQUOKETA, GARY BAILEY,WAS FOUND DEAD IN HIS APARTMENT THIS MORNING, FROM AN APPARENT HEART ATTACK. HE WAS RENTING NOW AND PLANNED TO BE MARRIED LATER THIS YEAR AND THEN PURCHASE A HOME HERE. A REAL SHOCKER, AS HE WAS THOUGHT TO BE IN EXCELLENT HEALTH....LIKED TO BICYCLE, ETC. I DON'T KNOW HIS AGE, BUT SUPPOSE IN HIS 50'S. HE HAD BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN THE COMMUNITY SINCE COMING HERE IN MAY OF LAST YEAR. WAS A MEMBER OF THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB AND KIWANIS CLUB. HE HAD BEEN IN BANKING MOST OF HIS LIFE. HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THE FUNERAL WILL BE.

MAQUOKETA POLICE OFFICER SCOTT HANSEN RETURNS TO DUTY TOMORROW EVENING. HE STARTED WITH THE DEPARTMENT IN JULY 2003. AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, HE WAS CALLED UP WITH HIS NATIONAL GUARD UNIT. HE LEFT FOR DUTY IN AUGUST OF 2004 AND FIRST SERVED IN OKLAHOMA AND THEN SPENT MORE THAN A YEAR IN IRAQ. HIS RETURN BRINGS THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT UP TO FULL STAFF.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN.
