SATURDAY NIGHT AND IF THEY WIN THEN...ON TO STATE TOURNAMENT.

BELLEVUE GIRLS PLAY TONIGHT AND IF THEY WIN...THEY GO TO STATE.

MAQUOKETA BOYS PLAY TOMORROW NIGHT AGAINST SOLON.    IF THEY

WIN..THEY HAVE ONE MORE GAME AND A WIN WOULD PUT THEM TO STATE TOO.

ALL 3 GAMES GAMES YET THIS WEEK WILL BE ON KMAQ AND OUR WEB SITE.

MAQUOKETA CARDINAL BOYS HAVE A TOURNAMENT GAME TOMORROW NIGHT AT

7  P.M. AT MANCHESTER.     THE CARDINALS HAVE PLAYED WEST DELAWARE TWICE

THIS YEAR AND LOST BOTH.    WE WILL HAVE THE GAME ON KMAQ AND HERE

ON THE WEB SITE AT 6:50 TOMORROW (MONDAY) NIGHT.


GOOD NEWS FOR DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.    GOOD RUMOR HAS IT THAT THE BIG

EMPTY BANK BUILDING DOWNTOWN HAS BEEN SOLD TO A NATIVE OF 

MAQUOKETA WHO PLANS TO BRING IT BACK TO IT'S  FORMER LOOK.      IT HAS BEEN 

EMPTY FOR A LONG TIME AND OWNED BY U.S. BANK.     FOR MANY YEARS IT WAS THE 

JACKSON STATE SAVING BANK.


2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW COMING TODAY....BUT GOOD NEWS...WARMER WEATHER

THIS WEEK IN THE MID TO UPPER 30'S  AND NO SNOW THIS COMING WEEK AFTER

3 HEADED TO STATE TO REPRESENT THE MAQUOKETA MARLINS  YMCA  SWIM TEAM IN
MARSHALLTOWN ON MARCH 6TH.  CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM.

 8 BELOW LAST NIGHT IN MAQUOKETA.





BIG FIRE LAST NIGHT IN SUB-ZERO WEATHER...
A PHOTO LAST NIGHT BY JESS THOMAS AND ONE I TOOK THIS MORNING.
THE GARAGE BEHIND THE CAMPER WAS WHERE IT STARTED AND WAS A TOTAL
LOSS.   THE CAMPER ALSO WILL BE A TOTAL LOSS.    THE FIRE SPREAD TO THE
NEARBY HOUSE AND DID DAMAGE TO THE ROOF AND EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO
THE KITCHEN.     THE HOUSE WILL BE SAVED.   FIRE CHIEF MATT TRANEL SAID
THE CAUSE NOT YET DETERMINED AND THAT FIREMEN WERE AT THE SCENE FOR
NEARLY 3  HOURS AND THEN SPENT AN HOUR PLUS BACK AT STATION CLEANING UP
EQUIPMENT.    THE HOUSE IS OWNED BY JEANNIE  MANNING AND SHE AND 3 OTHERS LIVE THERE AND WERE NOT HOME WHEN FIRE STARTED.
