A LOSS WILL GIVE HIM AN 8TH PLACE MEDAL. ADAM PAPE, THE OTHER MAQUOKETA WRESTLER AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT LOST YESTERDAY AND WAS ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.
THE NORTHEAST OF GOOSELAKE GIRLS PLAY TONIGHT AND A WIN WILL PUT THEM IN THE GIRL'S STATE TOURNAMENT AND THE BELLEVUE MARQUETTE GIRLS PLAY AT 4 TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND THEY WOULD GO ON TO STATE IF THEY WIN TOMORROW.

JACKSON COUNTY'S CORN MAZE WAS A BIG HIT LAST FALL, MADE SOME MONEY AND PLANS ARE BEING MADE TO DOUBLE IT IN SIZE THIS FALL. IT IS A PROJECT OF THE JACKSON COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND THE JACKSON COUNTY DEMONSTRATION FARM JUST NORTH OF ANDREW, WHERE THE MAZE IS LOCATED.
MINOR ACCIDENT YESTERDAY MORNING, AT MAIN AND SUMMIT STREETS.
CHARGED WAS JACQUELINE DAVISON, AGE 64, OF MAQUOKETA, WHO WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO YIELD ON TURNING LEFT. THE OTHER CAR WAS DRIVEN BY A WOMAN FROM DEWITT. THE DAVISON CAR RECEIVED ABOUT $500 IN DAMAGES AND THE OTHER CAR, ABOUT $200. NO INJURIES.
THERE IS A MOVE UNDERWAY IN DES MOIENS, IN THE LEGISLATURE, TO RAISE THE SPEED LIMIT IN IOWA TO 70 MPH.
