HOSPICE IS RENTING SPACE UNTIL A NEW HOSPICE HOUSE IS BUILT. HOSPICE
NEEDED ADDITIONAL SPACE AND THE HOSPITAL NEEDS THE SPACE HOSPICE IS USING NOW. THE NEW LOCATION IS HOUSING HOSPICE OFFICES ONLY AND AND IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO HOUSE PATIENTS. THE NEW HOSPICE HOUSE WILL BE BUILT AT THE FORMER BICENTENNIAL PARK ON WEST GROVE STREET, ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE HOSPITAL. THE PLAN IS FOR A SEVEN-BED FACILITY.

THE MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO A STOVE FIRE AT THE ANDRIANA JACKSON RESIDENCE ON NORTH MAIN AROUND 1:30 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. SOMETHING ON THE STOVE WAS ON FIRE AND WAS QUICKLY EXTINGUISHED.
FORMER MAQUOKETA RESIDENT JACKIE JAN LEFT $205,000 TO SIX MAQUOKETA INSTITUTIONS WHEN HE DIED EARLIER THIS YEAR. JAN, AGE 72, DIED IN APRIL AND WAS A MHS GRAD.
