TRAVIS SAUNDERS ROLLED A 300 GAME LAST WEEK IN THE
SUBURBAN BUD LIGHT LEAGUE AT TIMER LANES. ENDED UP WITH A 717 SERIES.
THE MIDAMERICA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY MEN'S BASKETBALL
TEAM IS RANKED NUMBER ONE IN THE MEN'S N.A.I.A. DIVISION
TWO PRE-SEASON POLL. THEY FINISHED LAST YEAR AS THE NUMBER ONE TEAM. THE COACH IS ROCKY LAMAR, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA. BILL FLEMMING IS ASSISTANT COACH AND
SENIOR ADAM HEPKER OF MAQUOKETA IS A POINT GUARD AND THEIR LEADING SCORER. THEY STARTED OFF THE SEASON
THIS WEEKEND IN A TOURNAMENT AND WON BOTH GAMES, SO THEY ARE OFF TO A GOOD START AGAIN. MIDAMERICA IS IN OLATHE, KANSAS.

SUNDAY, THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY HELD THEIR ANNUAL FUND RAISING DINNER AT THE FAIRGROUNDS
IN MAQUOKETA. GOOD TURNOUT AND GOOD FOOD ENJOYED BY HUNDREDS. DURING THE AFTERNOON, JIM CLARKE, THE FOUNDER OF GREEN ISLAND AND DR. FREDERICK SWIFT, SR. WERE BOTH INDUCTED INTO THE JACKSON COUNTY HALL OF FAME. AND, AFTER DINNER, MANY TOURED THE MUSEUM BEFORE LEAVING. AND MANY WENT TO THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE MUSEUM TO VIEW THE NEW GINGERBREAD HOMES
MADE FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON. THERE ARE 17 UPSTAIRS IN A BEAUTIFUL HOLIDAY DISPLAY AND ALL ARE OF A BUILDING IN JACKSON COUNTY THAT IS WAS TORN DOWN.
