FORMER SEN. ROGER STEWART PRESENTED HIM WITH A PORTRAIT OF
MAQUOKETA BOOK AND THE GOVERNOR ASKED ROSE FRANTZEN TO AUTOGRAPH
HER BOOK FOR HIM.
A HOME AT 306 SOUTH ELIZA WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE EARLY THIS MORNING.
THREE FAMILY MEMBERS ESCAPED WITHOUT INJURY. KATHY MEYERS WAS
THE RENTER AND SHE LIVED IN IT WITH A SON AND TWO DAUGHTERS. THE 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS UP AND ON HIS COMPUTER AT 1 A.M. AND HEARD 3 POPS IN THE
KITCHEN AND THEN DISCOVERED THE BACK PORCH WAS ON FIRE. HE AWOKE THE
TWO YOUNGER SISTERS AND ALL THREE GOT OUT OF THE HOUSE QUICKLY.
KAYTHY MEYERS WAS NOT HOME WHEN THE FIRE BROKE OUT.
THE FAMILY HAD NO INSURANCE. FAMILY AND FRIENDS HAVE STARTED A CLOTHING DRIVE. AND OTHER ITEMS ARE ALSO NEEDED. DONATIONS CAN BE DROPPED OFF AT 307 NORTH NIAGARA ST...
