95 TODAY...
LOOKING FORWARD TO 100 TOMORROW.

7 TONIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BOY'S  TOURNAMENT
GAME AGAINST DAVENPORT.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT.

ROCCO RUDD, 57, OF MAQUOKETA HIT A DEER WITH HIS MOTORCYLE
OVER THE WEEKEND.   HE WAS NOT WEARING A HELMET.   HE WAS
TAKEN TO THE MAQUOKETA  HOSPITAL AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IN IOWA CITY, WITH NON LIFE THREATENING
INJURIES.   HIS CYCLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS.    THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE CAVES ROAD.

VANDALISM AT THE LITTLE BEAR PARK OVER WEEKEND....PICNIC TABLES
TIPPED OVER AND A BIKE WAS THROWN INTO A TREE.

DENNIS MILLER REPORTED SOMEONE TRIED TO BREAK INTO HIS
STORAGE UNIT ON EAST PLATT STREET.

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING, A CAR PULLING OUT OF ITS PARKING SPACE RAN OVER 2 CHILDREN AT THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE, WHO WERE WATCHING THE MOVIE ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF THEIR CAR.  THE CAR THAT HIT THEM  WAS  DRIVEN BY A WOMAN FROM DAVENPORT AND THE TWO  KIDS, AGE 6 AND 9 WERE FROM DUBUQUE.    THE 9  YEAR OLD GIRL  RECEIVED  SCRAPES AND BRUISES AND THE BOY RECEIVED A BROKEN LEG.  

AT THE STATE GIRL'S SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT AT FORT DODGE THIS
AFTERNOON, 2ND RATED EARLHAM DEFEATED BELLEVUE MARQUETTE, 8 TO 0, WITH BELLEVUE GETTING JUST 2 HITS.     THEIR NEXT GAME WILL BE AT NOON WEDNESDAY IN CONSOLATION PLAY.   THAT GAME, LIKE TODAYS,
WILL BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ.

WE VISITED ROCK CREEK MARINA AND ECO CENTER YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.    THIS BEAUTIFUL PARK AND NEW CENTER IS LOCATED ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 30, JUST PAST CAMANCHE, ON HIGHWAY 67 SOUTH.  TURN LEFT AT THE ROCK QUARRY AND IT IS OFF THE ROAD A MILE OR SO.
IT IS OPERATED BY CLINTON COUNTY CONSERVATION.     IN PHOTOS ABOVE, YOU WILL SEE THE LARGE AQUARIUM, THE RECORD DEER SHOT AT 
SPRAGUEVILLE,  THE BEAUTIFUL MISSISSIPPI RIVER DOCKING AREA,
AND ABOVE, AT END OF PIER, THE BLUE HERON PONTOON BOAT THAT
GIVES 90-MINUTE TOURS OF THE RIVER EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT AT
7 AND SATURDAY MORNING AT 9 AND SOME OTHER SPECIAL CRUISES.
THEY ARE NARRATED BY A CONSERVATION STAFF MEMBER.    THE BUILDING
IS VERY LARGE AND INCLUDES A BIG ROOM FOR PUBLIC EVENTS, INCLUDING WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES.     TAKE SOME TIME TO VISIT THIS PARK SOON....THE ROCK CREEK PARK AND NEW ECO CENTER.
