TUESDAY, BECAUSE I AM A MEMBER, I ATTENDED A POTLUCK AT THE PRAIRIE
CREEK PAVILION FOR THE FRIENDS OF JACKSON COUNTY CONSERVATION.
GOOD PLACE, GOOD FOOD, GOOD MEMBERS.
BOB MARTIN WOULD BE GLAD WE WERE THERE ENJOYING HIS GIFT.
A FEW PHOTOS TAKE....
NEW BRIDGE OVER THE CREEK
ENHANCE THE PARK. MAIL OR LEAVE YOUR CHECK AT THE CONSERVATION OFFICE
AT HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER.
THE PAVILION CAN BE RENTED AT A VERY REASONABLE COST. IT HAS OVERHEAD
DOORS THAT OPEN TO ENJOY THE BEAUTY BELOW. MANY PICNIC TABLES, A FIREPLACE IF NEEDED AND NICE REST ROOMS.
DRIVE-DOWN THE ROAD FROM SUMMIT STREET. ENTER THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO
JACKSON INDUSTRY... AND SEE THIS GREAT NEW PARK.
NOW LET'S HEAD OVER TO THE FAIRGROUNDS TO SEE AND WHAT'S NEW....
THE WEST EXTENSION TO THE GRANDSTAND...IT IS CURVED TO GET BEST VIEW
OF STAGE.
THERE IS ALSO A LARGE EXTENSION ON THE EAST END BETWEEN THE OLD
GRANDSTAND AND OPEN BEER GARDEN. SEE BELOW.
NEW SECTIONS ARE HIGHER THAN OLD. LOOKS LIKE WHEN COMPLETED, THERE
WILL BE ROOM FOR TWICE AS MANY PEOPLE AS BEFORE AND I BELIEVE EACH SEAT WILL HAVE A NUMBER.
ANOTHER BIG IMPROVEMENT, IN TIME FOR THE 2019 COUNTY FAIR, AT
ONE OF THE BEST FAIRGROUNDS IN IOWA.
LAWN CHAIRS, BACKS OF PICKUPS, BLANKETS,
A COUCH, A MATTRESS... YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU
WILL SEE AT THE 61 DRIVE-IN TO ENJOY A MOVIE
UNDER THE STARTS.
