WINDY AND NICE DAY TODAY....IN THE 70'S.
RAIN COMING TONIGHT, TOMORROW AND TOMORROW NIGHT.

AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING, IT WAS LEARNED THAT NOW THAT THE EPA
HAS GRANTED MAQUOKETA $200,000 TOWARD THE CLEAN-UP DOWNTOWN,
THERE ARE STRICT STIPULATIONS ON SPENDING THE MONEY.
SO MANY, THAT IT LOOKS NOW LIKE IT STILL WILL BE MONTHS BEFORE
THE CLEAN-UP WORK CAN BE DONE.

MORE DUCK BUYERS FOR THE ROTARY DUCK RACE HAVE BEEN ADDED TO
THE KMAQ GUEST BOOK.

RUNNING BEHIND....MAYBE MORE NEWS TOMORROW.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN. CHECK THE PHOTO BELOW.

CLICK-ON THIS PHOTO TO ENLARGE. THIS IS A NEW BENCH THAT WAS PUT JUST
RECENTLY AT THE MAQUOKETA POST OFFICE. I THINK YOU CAN READ IT ALL,
EXCEPT THE LOWER LEFT NAME, WHICH IS EDITH A. HIETZ. I KNEW WILLIAM N. ALDEN. HE WAS A GOOD KMAQ LISTENER AND I ENJOYED MY VISITS WITH HIM.
HE DIED A COUPLE YEARS AGO, MAYBE MORE.
NICE IDEA, TO LEAVE A BENCH IN MEMORY OF SOMEONE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER PLACES WHERE ONE COULD BE PLACED IN MAQUOKETA. GOOD CLASS PROJECT.
THERE IS ONE IN MEMORY OF MY DAUGHTER CHRISTY, AT ENTRANCE AREA OF
BRIGG'S SCHOOL.
