WATCHING A PARADE IS FUN FOR ALL AGES. THE JACKSON COUNTY 2018
FAIR PARADE THIS YEAR WILL BE ON TUESDAY, JULY 24TH. AND AT THE
FRONT OF THE PARADE, MARK "SPARKY" ANDERSON. IT WAS ANNOUNCED
YESTERDAY ON KMAQ'S "JUST TALK" SHOW THAT "SPARKY" WILL BE THE
PARADE MARSHALL. THE ANNOUNCEMENT MADE BY LANNY SIMPSON,
FAIR MANAGER.
AND THE FAIR FAMILY WILL BE THE MIKE FRANZEN FAMILY OF MONMOUTH.
THE FRANZEN FAMILY HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH THE JACKSON COUNTY
FAIR FOR A COUPLE OF GENERATIONS. THE LAST 4 YEARS, THE FAMILY
HAS RUN THE TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL AT THE FAIR. MIKE HAS BEEN
A FAIR BOARD MEMBER FOR MANY YEARS. THE FAMILY WILL ALSO BE IN
THE PARADE.
THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL WRESTLERS WILL BE IN THE SECTIONAL
TOURNAMENT AT ANAMOSA THIS SATURDAY. FOUR OF THE SIX
TEAMS ARE WAMAC SCHOOLS....CENTER POINT URBANA, DYERSVILLE BECKMAN, ANAMOSA AND MAQUOKETA. THE OTHER TWO, MONTICELLO
AND DUBUQUE WAHLERT. THE TOP TWO WRESTLERS IN EACH WEIGHT CLASS WILL GO ON TO THE DISTRICT MEET THE FILLOWING WEEK.
