BEAUTIFUL DAY IN MAQUOKETA, AFTER SOME DRIZZLE THIS MORNING.
SUNNY THIS AFTERNOON AND A HIGH IN THE UPPER 50'S.
WARMER WEATHER TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY.

ALL WENT WELL WITH THE TWO KMAQ TRAVEL BUSES TO BRANSON. SAW SEVEN SOME GOOD SHOWS AND ALL HAD A GOOD TIME. BRANSON CONTINUES TO GROW!

I WILL NOT TRY AND RECAP ALL THAT HAPPENED HERE IN TOWN WHILE I WAS GONE...BUT NOTHING MAJOR TO MY KNOWLEDGE. THE CAMPAIGNING CONTINUED AND ELECTION DAY IS TOMORROW. BE SURE TO VOTE.

MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MEETS TONIGHT.

LIZ GAVIN, AGE 9, DAUGHTER OF JENNIFER AND BOB GAVIN OF MAQUOKETA WON HER AGE DIVISION IN THE NFL- PEPSI PUNT, PASS AND KICK EVENT FOR THE CHICAGO BEARS TEAM COMPETITION HELD SATURDAY IN CHICAGO. AND AT HALF- TIME AT YESTERDAY'S BEARS-MIAMI GAME, HER COMBINED TOTAL OF DISTANCE IN 3 EVENTS WAS 50 FEET FURTHER THAN HER NEAREST COMPETITOR. SHE HAD EARLIER WON THE LOCAL AND SECTIONAL COMPETITION. SHE'S A 4TH GRADER AND COMPETED AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS FROM IOWA, ILLINOIS, INDIANA AND WISCONSIN. NOW, IT IS WAITING TIME FOR JENNIFER. EACH OF THE 32 NFL TEAMS WILL HAVE SIMILAR COMPETITION DURING THE NEXT MONTH AND THE TOP 4 SCORERS AT EACH LEVEL WILL ADVANCE TO ONE FINAL EVENT AT THE A.F.C. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. SHE WILL NOT KNOW FOR SURE UNTIL PROBABLY MID-DECEMBER. A FUN DAY FOR HER AND HER PARENTS AND CONGRATULATIONS TO JENNIFER. WE WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.

MOONEY HOLLOW BARN NEAR GREEN ISLAND (WITH THE HUGE FIDDLE PAINTED ON THE SILO) HAS NEW OWNERS AND MORE ABOUT THAT LATER THIS WEEK.

THE SIGNS WENT UP LAST WEEK AT WAL MART'S NEW SUPER STORE AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF TOWN....AND THEY ARE NOW ADVERTISING FOR ADDITIONAL HELP ON KMAQ'S POPULAR "JOB BANK" PROGRAM.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
