CLOUDY AGAIN TODAY...HIGH OF 21.

A FIGHT IN MAQUOKETA LAST NIGHT. RICHIE ALLEN OF MAQUOKETA, AGE 41,
IS IN THE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL IN IOWA CITY, BEING TREATED FOR A CUT ON HIS NECK. THE FIGHT WAS APPARENTLY WITH TODD CLARK, AGE 36, OF MAQUOKETA. POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID CLARK AND OTHERS
AT THE HOUSE, AT 311 N. MAIN STREET, ARE SUSPECTS AND THAT NO ONE IS SAYING WHAT CAUSED THE INJURY.. THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL
INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN CALLED IN BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF QUESTIONS
ABOUT THE INCIDENT.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS PLAY AT DYERSVILLE TONIGHT AND THE GIRLS
HOST DYERSVILLE BECKMAN AT THE MCHS GYM.

KMAQ WAS OFF THE AIR WELL OVER AN HOUR THIS MORNING WHILE
A DUBUQUE TOWER MAN CHANGED THE 8 LIGHT BULBS ON THE 400 FOOT TOWER JUST NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA. A COUPLE WERE BURNED OUT AND OTHERS WOULD BE GOING OUT SOON ALSO. PLUS HE FOUND A SHORT THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. QUITE A JOB, ESPECIALLY IN 10-DEGREE
WEATHER. LAST TIME IT WAS DONE WAS IN 2006. TOWERS NEED LIGHTS
SO THEY WON'T BE HIT BY AN AIRPLANE OR HELICOPTER.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND. A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE ATTENDING THE JACKSON
COUNTY CATTLEMEN'S ANNUAL STEAK FRY AND MEETING AT THE FAIRGROUNDS
THIS SATURDAY NIGHT. WE'LL BE AT THE VFW'S ANNUAL DINNER MEETING
AT THE EAGLES. FIREMEN WILL HAVE THEIR ANNUAL DINNER ALSO SATURDAY NIGHT.
AND..A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL BE SEEING "TRUE GRIT" THIS WEEKEND AT MY
THEATRE...THE HOTTEST MOVIE OUT THESE DAYS....GREAT WESTERN.
