THE WEEKEND WEATHER WAS FANTASTIC!
TODAY, ANOTHER SUPER DAY....80....SAME AS YESTERDAY.
TOMORROW, A LITTLE COOLER...
THEN IN 60'S WEDNESDAY AND UPPER 60'S THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
NOT BAD FOR THIS WEEK ALSO.

BEFORE I FORGET, FRIDAY NIGHT IN MAQUOKETA, THE MAQUOKETA
FOOTBALL TEAM DEFEATED ANAMOSA 48 TO 0. IT WAS 41 TO 0 AT THE
HALF. IN THE SECOND HALF, COACH BOWMAN USED A LOT OF RESERVES...
AND THE CLOCK RAN WITHOUT STOPPING, ACCORDING TO RULES
WHEN A GAME BECOMES LOPSIDED.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT. TO BE DISCUSSED, NEXT YEAR'S CALENDAR AND AN EARLY RETIREMENT PROGRAM.

R. B. PAUL OF SPRING LAKE PARK, MINNESOTA DIED SATURDAY.
HIS BROTHER IN MAQUOKETA IS CY PAUL. THE FUNERAL WILL BE
TOMORROW AT EASTON, MINNESOTA.

NANCY AND I HAD A LOT OF FUN SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT AT THE 29TH ANNUAL BLUEGRASS MUSIC EVENT AT EDEN VALLEY PARK SOUTH OF BALDWIN.
THANKS TO MARY McANDREW FOR AGAIN STAGING THE OUTDOOR EVENT,
FEATURING HER OWN HOMEBREW CHILI. REST OF MEAL WAS POTLUCK.
THE EVENT WAS FREE AND GETS BIGGER EVERY YEAR. AROUND 250 THERE,
AND THE CAMPGROUNDS WERE PACKED.

DR. BROMAN IS 90 TOMORROW. SOME OF THE FAMILY WAS HERE THIS PAST
WEEKEND TO CELEBRATE, INCLUDING BARRY OF HOUSTON AND STEVE
OF COLORADO. I TALKED TO BOTH AT GOODENOW FIELD. STEVE IS AN MD AND BARRY AND HIS WIFE ARE PHYSICAL THERAPY SPECIALISTS AND HAVE LIVED IN HOUSTON SINCE 1981. FAMILY MEMBERS, INCLUDING GRANDKIDS, TOOK DOC TO THE BALL GAME FRIDAY NIGHT AND BOB GAVEN MENTIONED HIS BIRTHDAY OVER THE PA.

KMAQ'S LEIGHTON HEPKER HAD THE HONOR OR RAISING THE U.S. FLAG FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE GAME, IN RECOGNITION OF HIS 35 YEARS AS THE VOICE OF
MAQUOKETA CARDINAL FOOTBALL GAMES ON KMAQ. BOB GAVEN HAD NICE,
WELL DESERVED COMMENTS ABOUT LEIGHTON WHO PASSED ON THE PLAY-BY-PLAY MIC TO MATT CLARK THIS FALL, BUT STILL REMAINS AS KMAQ'S STATION
MANAGER AND SALES MANAGER. HE IS IN HIS 36TH YEAR HERE AT KMAQ.
WIFE CINDY HAS BEEN A KINDERGARDEN TEACHER HERE FOR NEARLY THAT MANY YEARS AND STILL TEACHES.

HAVE A GOOD MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY.
