The Sunshine Preschool and Day Care Radiothon-Telethon held from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 31, was a success. It raised more than $21,000. Area residents called in pledges of about $11,252. Alliance Pipeline, with a Maquoketa office, had agreed to match up to $10,000. And the Maquoketa State Bank matched its employees pledges of about $1,800. So, the total of this morning was $21,252.61. And, some additional pledges and donations were mde today at the school, so the total will grow a little. The money will be used for scholarships and general operations for the center that has 180 kids attending.
