TOMORROW, ANOTHER GOOD ONE.
RAIN POSSIBLE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
THE HOSPITAL BOARD APPROVED A 4 AND 1/2 PERCENT ACROSS THE
BOARD FEE INCREASE FOR ALL CHARGES BEGINNING THE NEW FISCAL
YEAR. THE INCREASE IS BASED ON WELLMARK'S INTENTIONS FOR
REIMBURSEMENT RATES IN THE NEW YEAR.
THE LAMOTTE DEPOT MOVING WAS POSTPONED ANOTHER DAY BECAUSE
OF THE RAIN SOAKED AREA AROUND THE DEPOT. THE MOVING WILL START AT 8:30 TOMORROW (THURSDAY) MORNING AND LAST MOST OF THE
DAY.
ANOTHER COUPLE THINGS FROM THE OLD 1945 MAQUOKETA
NEWSPAPER GIVEN TO ME BY DIANE AND VIC RATHJE, FORMER MAQUOKETA
RESIDENTS, NOW LIVING IN AMANA. OUR FIRST LOOK AT THE PAPER WAS LAST WEEK ON THIS DAILY REPORT.
I KNOW OR KNEW EVERYONE ON THE ABOVE, EXCEPT JAMES HARDING. BOTH BOB STOCKHAM AND LAWRENCE HAGER ARE GOOD FRIENDS AND
STILL LIVING....BOB HERE IN TOWN AND LARRY AT MARSHALTOWN...BOTH 90 OR ABOVE. I HAVE
MORE CLIPPING FOR FUTURE DAILY REPORTS.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE FRIDAY MORNING FOR 65 YEAR OLD MARY DUBERT OF DAVENPORT, WHO WAS RAISED ON THE FAMILY FARM HERE IN
JACKSON COUNTY. SHE HAD A MASTER'S DEGREE IN SOCIAL WORK AND SERVED FOR MANY YEARS AS THE DIRECTOR OF SCOTT COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES. SURVIVORS INCLUDE A SISTER IN MAQUOKETA, JANE DUBERT.
