BOTH MAQUOKETA AND BALDWIN FIREMEN FOUGHT THE FIRE FOR OVER 2 HOURS.
THE MAQUOKETA KIWANIS AND MAQUOKETA YMCA WILL HOST A FREE
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL "PITCH, HIT AND RUN" EVENT ON SATURDAY,
APRIL 18TH AT 10 A.M. AT THE YMCA. BOYS AND GIRLS ARE DIVIDED INTO
FOUR AGE DIVISIONS. LOCAL COORDINATORS ARE BOB GAVIN AT THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK AND CHANCE JENKENS AT THE YMCA. SIGN UP WITH EITHER.
THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS OPEN THE SEASON SUNDAY NIGHT AT WRIGLEY FIELD AGAINST THE CUBS, WITH FIRST PITCH AT 7:05. KMAQ-FM WILL BE BROADCASTING ST. LOUIS CARDINAL GAMES FOR THE 31ST YEAR IN A ROW.
THE CUBS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MUCH BETTER THIS YEAR (BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH) AND THE CARDINALS ARE MOST ALWAYS WINNERS.
