McDONALDS RESTAURANT. MARCELENE EGANHOUSE, 79, OF BELLEVUE FAILED TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AND STRUCK THE VEHICLE DRIVEN
BY NOREEN DANIELS, AGE 49, OF MAQUOKETA. $1,000 DAMAGE TO
EACH VEHICLE AND NO INJURIES. EGANHOUSE WAS CHARGED.
MORE THAN 200 STUDENTS HAVE VISITED THE STATEHOUSE THIS WINTER TO TALK TO LAWMAKERS. SEN. TOD BOWMAN WELCOMED A GROUP FROM
MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL, INCLUDING ABOVE....SHEERY SCHNOOR,
REESE RUPPERT, JULIA DILTZ, DEB PFAB, CASSIE HUEBBE AND CARLEY
TRAVERSE.
IT IS GOING TO BE A BIG MOVIE THIS WEEKEND ALL OVER THE U.S.A AND
HERE IN MAQUOKETA...RATED PG-13. NOW THROUGH NEXT TUESDAY,
THE VOY THEATRE IS HAVING SPECIAL SCHOOL VACATION 2 P.M. MATINEE SHOWINGS OF BOTH MOVIES, AT BARGAIN ADMISSION...ALL SEATS $5.
"HOME".. THE NUMBER 1 MOVIE IN THE COUNTRY IS ALSO SHOWING AT THE
VOY THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND MONDAY AND TUESDAY.
IOWA GRAPE WINES WINERY, ON THE CAVES ROAD, JUST NORTHWEST OF MAQUOKETA, IS OWNED BY JIM AND MARY KAY SORENSON. IN THE FINGER LAKES INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION IN NEW YORK RECENTLY, OVER 3,700 WINES FROM 900 WINERIES WERE ENTERED. THE WINERIES REPRESENTED 27 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. AS A RESULT OF THEIR
FOUR ENTRIES, THE SORENSON'S WERE GIVEN 4 MEDALS. IT WAS THE
FIRST TIME THEY HAD ENTERED COMPETITION. THE DOUBLE GOLD AWARD WENT TO THEIR "BLUE DIAMOND" WINE, A SWEET RED WINE. THE WINERY WAS STARTED BY THE SORENSON'S NEAR PRESTON IN 2009 AND THEN
LAST YEAR RE-LOCATED ON THE CAVES ROAD.
POST 75 OF THE AMERICAN LEGION MET FOR THE MONTHLY MEETING
LAST NIGHT AT THE EAGLES. I'M A MEMBER AND ATTENDED WITH MY
CAMERA. A NEW COMMANDER WAS ELECTED AND $25 PRIZES WERE
WON IN THE LEGION RAFFLE. I STARTED A NEW "BLOG" FOR THE LEGION
AND HOPE YOU WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT SOON. LOTS TO READ ABOUT
