OLD MAQUOKETA PHOTOS

HELP IDENTIFY....EMAIL ME.
GRAND OPERA HOUSE...WHERE?
PASTIME THEATRE 10 CENTS... DON'T KNOW WHY THAT SIGN IS THERE?

AN OIL WELL IN MAQUOKETA??

THAT LONG BUILDING TO LEFT WITH TWELVE 2ND STORY WINDOWS?
LOOK AT ALL THE HIGH-WIRE POLES RIGHT DOWN MAIN STREET.

I DON'T RECOGNIZE THE CORNER BUILDING TO THE RIGHT, WITH 4 UPPER WINDOWS.
NOTICE BOARD WALK-WAYS ACROSS THE STREET IN SOME PHOTOS.

LOOKS LIKE TWO, OR MAYBE JUST ONE BIG, GROCERY STORE.
WHERE LOCATED??
MAQUOKETA HAD A LOT OF IRON RAILINGS  ON UPPER PORCHES.
NOTICE THE BRICK STREET.

SEE THE WOOD WALKWAYS ACROSS THE STREET.    WONDER WHAT
THE BIG BUILDING IS ON RIGHT SIDE, AT THE UPPER END OF PHOTO?
LIGHT COLOR.

THERE IS IT...THE FAMOUS TOWN CLOCK.

  1. The fourth picture in this post. S.W. corner of Main & Platt. I have a much earlier picture that shows that building from the 1800's. Later this building became the American Savings Bank. After that is was the National Tea Co., grocery store, then Hamilton's Women's Wear. I have more photos of this corner that have been posted on the Retro Maq. site when Elaine was doing it.
