AN OLD BARN, AT THE DAVE LUETT FARM ON 65TH AVENUE, RURAL
MAQUOKETA, WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE YESTERDAY MORNING. FIREMEN
WERE CALLED AT 5:30 A.M. AND BY THEN, THE BARN WAS PRETTY MUCH ALREADY DESTROYED. THE BARN WAS FULL OF HAY. LOST NATION,
MAQUOKETA, BALDWIN AND OXFORD JUNCTION FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE
CALLED, MOSTLY FOR THEIR TANKERS FOR WATER. FIREMEN WERE AT
THE SCENE ABOUT 4 HOURS AND LOST NATION FIRE FIGHTERS WERE THERE LONGER PUTTING OUT HOT SPOTS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.
THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY TO THE BARN. THE CAUSE WAS NOT
DETERMINED.
SEVERAL INCIDENTS WERE REPORTED TO POLICE OVER THE WEEKEND.
A POST AROUND THE PARKING LOT AT 5TH WARD PARK WAS DAMAGED AND TAKEN DOWN SUNDAY.
KATHY McCAULLEY ON WEST SUMMIT REPORTED A PACKAGE WAS TAKEN FROM HER FRONT PORCH CONTAINING BOOTS VALUED AT $60.
PATRICIA KRANTZ REPORTED HER STORAGE LOCKER ON E. PLATT WAS BROKEN INTO. THE LOCK WAS CUT.

AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING TONIGHT.
THE BONNIE BORMAN HOME AT 805 GRANT STREET WITH THE
LONG FRONT PORCH. NICE!

MAQUOKETA TOPPED BELLEVUE 51 TO 19.
THE CARDS DEFEATED CLAYTON RIDGE 65 TO 12.
AND IT WAS MAQUOKETA 60, STARMONT 16.
MAQUOKETA LOST TO WASHINGTON 55 TO 23 AND TO MFL MAR-MAC 56 TO 24.
