THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

TODAY, SUNNY AND HIGH OF 24..

THEN RAIN AND IN THE 40'S SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

A FORMER MAQUOKETA RESIDENT WAS KILLED IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT NEAR TULSA, OKLAHOMA AROUND 5 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.
JOSHUA MICHAEL LUNDGREN WAS DRIVING A CRANE AND A TIRE BLEW OUT AND HE CRASHED INTO A TREE.  HE WAS PINNED IN THE WRECKAGE AND
PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.    HE GRADUATED FROM MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL IN 2009 AND RECENTLY GOT MARRIED IN OKLAHOMA.

A TWO CAR ACCIDENT NOVEMBER 15TH ON SUMMIT STREET.
ONE DRIVER, JASMINE TERRELL, 22, OF MAQUOKETA AND THE
OTHER DRIVER KRISTIN LANE, 19, OF MAQUOKETA.   TERRELL WAS CHARGED.  NO INJURIES.     AROUND $1,000 - $1,500 DAMAGE TO EACH VEHICLE.

MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY IS THINKING OF JOINING
SEVEN OTHER CITIES IN TAKING A LOOK AT PROVIDING TELEPHONE,
BROADBAND, INTERNET AND CABLE SERVICE TO MAQUOKETA.
THE STUDY WILL COST $120,000 OR $15,000 PER CITY.
THE CITY'S ORDINACE DOES NOT PREVENT COMPETITION TO MEDIACOM.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF ALLOWING THEIR SON TO BE TRUAN HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST BOTH  DENNIS MANNING, 47, AND DAWN MANNING, 42, BOTH OF MAQUOKETA.     THE MAGISTRATE SAID THE MANNINGS DID NOT SHOW UP FOR  A NOVEMBER 2ND HEARING.    THE NEXT HEARING WILL BE IN DECEMBER.    THE MANNING'S SON, JACOB, WAS ALLOWED TO MISS  SCHOOL ON NOV.18 AND19.

THE IOWA FARM BUREAU 29TH ANNUAL STUDY HAS  DETERMINED THE
COST OF A THANKSGIVING MEAL THIS YEAR, FOR A FAMILY OF 10,
WILL BE $49.41...LESS THAN $5 PER SERVING.   THE COST AS BEEN
AVERAGING AROUND $49 SINCE 2011.

MMEU EMPLOYEES PUT THE DOWNTOWN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
UP TODAY AND THE TREE HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN AND PLACED IN THE GREEN SPACE AREA DOWNTOWN.
