THE MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY BOARD WEDNESDAY APPROVED NEXT YEAR'S BUDGET FOR  THE UPCOMING CALENDAR YEAR.
NO ONE ATTENDED THE MEETING TO TALK ABOUT THE  BUDGET.
THE BUDGET NOW GOES TO THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL FOR FINAL
APPROVAL.    ALSO, THE MMEU BOARD APPROVED WAGES TO NON-UNION
EMPLOYEES AS THE SAME AS THE UNION EMPLOYEES AND WAGES WILL INCREASE 2.25 PERCENT IN EACH OF THE NEXT TWO YEARS AND 2.5 PERCENT IN T HE THIRD YEAR.      MMEU MANAGER TOM GAFFIGAN HAS A SEPARATE CONTRACT AS MANAGER.

AN ACCIDENT JUST AFTER NOON TODAY BETWEEN A CAR AND SEMI
AT SUMMIT AND MAIN SEND ONE PERSON TO THE HOSPITAL.   CLEAN-UP TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR.    NO DETAILS AT THIS TIME.

THE BIG TREE NEXT TO THE POST OFFICE HAS BEEN DECORATED.
AND THE EMPTY WINDOW DOWNTOWN THAT WAS THE WINDOW FOR
TIMBER CITY SHIRTWORKS, HAS BEEN DECORATED BY OSTERHAUS PHARMACY.   THERE IS NOT A NEW BUSINESS LOCATING THERE.
CERTAINLY, A DECORATED WINDOW OVER THE HOLIDAYS LOOKS BETTER
THAN AN EMPTY ONE.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.
