ANOTHER ACCIDENT APRIL 19TH AND THESE ACCIDENTS JUST RELEASED TODAY FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. KEN RUPP, AGE 74, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS BACKING FROM A DRIVEWAY AT SECOND AND JAMES AND HIT A PARKED VEHICLE OWNED BY JOANNE WENTWORTH OF PRESTON.
NO CHARGES AND NO INJURIES. AROUND $1,000 IN DAMAGES TO EACH
VEHICLE.
MAYOR DON SCHWENKER ANNOUNCED TODAY AT THE KIWANIS CLUB MEETING THAT A "HOT ROD MAGAZINE" CAR TOUR WILL BE PASSING THROUGH MAQUOKETA IN JUNE. THERE WILL BE AT LEAST 1,200 HOT RODS MAKING A TRIP FROM NORTH CAROLINA TO THE WISCONSIN DELLS.
THEY WILL PASS THROUGH MAQUOKETA ON FRIDAY, JUNE 13TH.
HOPEFULLY, THEY WILL STOP AND SPEND SOME TIME HERE.
THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL TRAP TEAM BROKE THEIR OWN STATE RECORD WHILE TAKING PART IN A MEET IN DEWITT IN APRIL. MAQUOKETA SHOT 245 OUT OF 250, BETTERING THEIR OWN RECORD OF 243.
