YESTERDAY, NANCY AND I HAD  DINNER AT PETERSVILLE, SOUTH OF
DELMAR.
STOPPED THE AT PETERSVILLE STORE  FOR DIRECTIONS TO THE
PETERSVILLE CHURCH.      HOWEVER, THE STORE WAS NOT OPEN, CLOSED
SUNDAYS.
SAW THE CHURCH OFF TO THE EAST AND TOOK THIS PHOTO.   WHAT A
BEAUTIFUL CATHOLIC CHURCH.    IT OPENED IN 1904 AND REPLACED
A WOOD CHURCH, NOW USED FOR THEIR ANNUAL DINNER, WHERE
WE ATE.


BIG TURN-OUT FOR THE DINNER.    MR. AND MRS. STEVE BURKE GREETED
US AS WE ENTERED THE DINING ROOM.    THEY HAVE BEEN MEMBERS
MANY YEARS.    STEVEN WENT TO SUNDAY SCHOOL  THERE.    THEN,
AROUND 100 FAMILIES, NOW ABOUT 30.     FATHER SCOTT LEMASTER
IS THE PASTOR, AND HE SERVES ASSUMPTION AT CHARLOTTE, ST. JOSEPH - ST. MARY'S AT SUGAR CREEK-BRYANT, ST. PATRICK'S IN DELMAR....ALONG WITH IMMACULATE CONCEPTION, PETERSVILLE.   BIG JOB!    HE HAS
A SATURDAY AFTERNOON MASS AND 3 ON SUNDAY MORNINGS.   AND
THEY ALTERNATE.     IMMACULATE DURING AUGUST HAS HAD THE 11 A.M.
SERVICE EACH SUNDAY.   IN SEPTEMBER, THEY WILL HAVE THE SATURDAY
AFTERNOON ONES.     WOW, THE FOOD WAS GOOD, CATERED BY BUZZY'S IN WELTON.    WE ENJOYED OUR VISIT TO PETERSVILLE.    THE TOWN ONCE
HAD A RAILROAD.    FOR MORE ABOUT THE TOWN, TALK TO ANN SOENKSEN
AT THE MUSEUM IN DOWNTOWN DEWITT.
