THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT APPROVED A LOW BID FOR REPLACING THE ROOF FOR THE 1992 HIGH SCHOOL BAND AND VOCAL ADDITION. THE LOW BID WAS FROM CONNELL SUPPLY HERE IN TOWN, AT $31,497. THERE WAS ONE OTHER BID, NEARLY $3,000 MORE.
THE ODD FELLOWS EMPORIUM (SANDWICHES AND GIFTS) OPENED AT
8 THIS MORNING, NEXT TO THE BAKERY IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
A PHOTO OR TWO COMING SOON HERE, WITH MORE INFORMATION. THE BUILDING WAS OWNED FOR MANY YEARS BY THE ODD FELLOWS LODGE. THE LODGE MEETING ROOM WAS UPSTAIRS AND THE GROUND FLOOR HAS HAD A MIXTURE OF BUSINESS PLACES OVER THE YEARS. AT ONE TIME,
