THE TRAGEDY IN JAPAN! TIME TO USE THE OLD SAYING AGAIN.... "IF IT AIN'T
ONE THING, IT'S ANOTHER!"

NICE DAY HERE...SUNNY AND IN 40'S. NEXT WEDNESDAY IS SUPPOSED TO BE
OUR FIRST 60-DEGREE DAY.

NORTH CEDAR LOST THEIR GAME THIS AFTERNOON IN DES MOINES...AND
THEREFORE GOT 4TH PLACE AT STATE.

THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS, BECAUSE OF FUNDING CUTS, WILL NOT ADD NEW PROJECTS TO THE COUNTY 5-YEAR ROAD PLAN FOR THE 5TH YEAR OUT IN 2016.

THE MAQUOKETA HOSPITAL WILL BE OFFERING DIGITAL MAMMOGRAMS IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS. SOME REMODELING TO ACCOMODATE THE LARGER
DIGITAL MACHINE WILL BE NECESSARY. HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR CURT COLEMAN SAID MORE WOMEN WILL USE THE NEW DIGITAL SYSTEM LOCALLY RATHER THAN GOING TO OTHER HOSPITALS WHO HAVE THE NEW SYSTEM.
AND THE HOSPITAL BOARD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT A SPECIAL MEETING AGREED TO HIRE AN ARCHITECTURAL FIRM AND ENGINEER TO DO AN ANAYLSIS
OF THE ENTIRE HOPITIAL FACILITIES.

HAROLD ZEIMET, AGE 89, OF SPRINGBROOK DIED THIS WEEK. WHAT A LIFE HE HAD!
WENT THROUGH 8TH GRADE ONLY. SERVED IN THE PHILIPPINES IN THE 40'S AND RECEIVED THE BRONZE STAR AND PURPLE HEART. WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE POPULAR LOCAL AND AREA "OKLAHOMA COWBOYS" BAND, PLAYING THE ACCORDION AND SINGING. FOUNDED ZEIMET'S GARAGE IN 1954 AND IT IS STILL
BEING RUN BY THREE SONS. SERVED THE CITY FOR 50 YEARS, AS COUNCILMAN
AND 20 AS MAYOR. SERVED ON THE COUNTY COMPENSATION BOARD AND THE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION. BELLEVUE LEGION MEMBER FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS AND WAS ACTIVE IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN SPRINGBROOK AS A PARISH COUNCIL MEMBER, A LECTORER AT MASS, AND SERVED AS A EUCHARISTIC MINISTER. SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 65 YEARS, HELEN, AND TEN CHILDREN. HE WILL BE MISSED!!

THE CITY COUNCIL THIS WEEK AGREED TO A NEW THREE YEAR CONTRACT WITH
ALLIANCE WATER RESOURCES TO MANAGE THE CITY'S WASTEWATER SYSTEMS.
THE CONTRACT CALLS FOR A 2.74 PERCENT INCREASE IN THE FIRST YEAR AND ABOUT A 2.9 PERCENT INCREASE IN THE SECOND YEAR.

NEW 2011 ST. LOUIS CARDINAL POCKET SCHEDULES HAVE ARRIVED HERE AT
THE STATION. THEY ARE FREE OF COURSE. EMAIL ME IF YOU WANT ONE.
