SUNNY AND 59 TODAY.
TOMORROW, CLOUDY AND MAYBE 65.

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD HEARD A PRESENTATION MONDAY NIGHT REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION FOR A SCHOOL SPONSORED GROUP CALLED
"THE DIVERSITY CLUB".
THE BOARD TOOK NO ACTION, BUT SAID THEY WILL CONSIDER IT AT THEIR
NEXT MEETING MARCH 28TH.
THE GROUP WOULD FOCUS ON GAY, LESBIAN, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER
ISSUES. ADVISOR CINDY WIESE SAID FOUR STUDENTS PROPOSED THE CLUB LAST
FALL. THERE ARE 7 TO 9 STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN ATTENDING MEETINGS AND
THE GROUP WENT TO A STATE CONFERENCE RECENTLY.

MAQUOKETA TEACHERS ARE ASKING FOR AN OVERALL 7 PERCENT CONTRACT PACKAGE INCREASE FOR NEXT YEAR. THIS IS THE START OF TALKS.

SHORT (BUT INTERESTING) REPORT. COME BACK TOMORROW.
