TWO PEOPLE CHOSEN BY CANDIDATES IN THE SENATE DISTRIC 13 RACE TO TAKE PART IN A RECOUNT OF THE NOVEMBER 2ND VOTE IN JACKSON COUNTY WERE UNABLE TO AGREE ON A THIRD PERSON TO SERVE ON THE RECOUNT BOARD. JACKSON COUNTY AUDITOR M. JOELLE DEPPE, WHO IS THE COMMISSIONER OF ELECTIONS, SAID THAT SENATOR ROGER STEWART AND JEAN DAVIDSAVER COULD NOT AGREE ON A THIRD PERSON. STEWART IS DEMOCRAT TOD BOWMAN'S REPRESENTATIVE AND DAVIDSAVER IS SERVING FOR REPUBLICAN ANDREW NAEVE, WHO CALLED FOR THE RECOUNT AS HE LOST BE LESS THAN 100 VOTES. DEPPE SAID THE MATTER HAS BEEN REFERRED TO THE CHIEF JUDGE FOR THE 7TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT, BOBBI ALPERS AND SHE HAS UNTIL 5 P.M. FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19TH TO NAME THE THIRD PERSON. THE SAME SITUATION HAS HAPPENED IN CLINTON
COUNTY AND THE JUDGE WILL NAME A 3RD PERSON. IN DUBUQUE COUNTY,
WITH ONLY A FEW PRECINCTS IN THE DISTRICT, THE THREE MEMBERS FOR THE RECOUNT HAVE BEEN APPROVED AND ARE READY TO BEGIN THE RECOUNT. THE WHO PROCESS MUST BE DONE BY THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING.
A CAR- DEER ACCIDENT WAS REPORTED MONDAY NIGHT AROUND 9. ALLEN CLARK, 41, OF MAQUOKETA SAID HE HIT A DEER SUNDAY MORNING ON MAPLE STREET.
DAMAGE OF $1,500 TO HIS CAR. THE DEER RAN OFF.
THE MAQUOKETA POST OFFICE HAS ANNOUNCED SHORTER WINDOW HOURS
STARTING NEXT MONDAY. MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, 9 A.M. UNTIL 4:45 P.M.
