THE SUPERVISORS OF JACKSON COUNTY ARE PLANNING TO HAVE NEW AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY OF JACKSON COUNTY DONE THIS SPRING, IN COLOR, AT A COST OF $27,000. THE DNR HAS CONTRACTED WITH A CEDAR FALLS FIRM TO DO THE PHOTOS AND BECAUSE THE PLANE WILL BE HERE IN SERVICE, THE COUNTY CAN ALSO
GET THE PHOTOS AT A REDUCED RATE. THE LAST PHOTOS OF ALL OF JACKSON COUNTY WERE DONE IN 2002 AND WERE DONE IN BLACK AND WHITE AND AT A COST OF $200,000.
AT THE HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING YESTERDAY...
THE BOARD APPROVED AN $850,000 TAX ASKING FOR NEXT YEAR, THE SAME
AS THE LAST 5 YEARS.
THE BOARD HEARD THAT IT WILL BE MADATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
TO GO TO AN ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD SYSTEM BY 2015 AT A COST
OF ONE-HALF MILLION DOLLARS IN SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE AND
EXTRA STAFFING.
THE BOARD HEARD THE HOSPITAL HAD ONE-MILLION DOLLARS IN BAD DEBT
LAST YEAR AND THAT IS NOT IMPROVING.
