WE GOT 4/10 OF AN INCH OF RAIN THIS MORNING AND IT IS BREEZY TODAY.
THE SUN CAME OUT ABOUT 2 O'CLOCK.    ONLY IN THE 50'S AGAIN.

AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING LAST NIGHT,    SCHOOL DISTRICT SUPT. KIM
HUCKSTADT APPEARED BEFORE THE COUNCIL TO EXPLAIN AN IDEA HIS BOARD HAS ABOUT INSTALLING A GEOTHERMAL UNIT FOR BRIGG'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, ADJACENT TO LITTLE BEAR PARK.    TO DO THIS, THE HEATING AND COOLING
SYSTEM WOULD REQUIRE HORIZONTAL WELLS UNDER THE PARK AND
AN EASEMENT WOULD BE NEEDED FROM THE CITY.      THE COUNCILSAID
THEY WOULD NOT OPPOSE SUCH AN EASEMENT.

IN A ROUTINE SEARCH, 3 DOGS WENT THROUGH THE MAQUOKETA  HIGH
SCHOOL MONDAY MORNING AND NOTHING WAS FOUND.   THE SCHOOL WAS LOCKED DOWN DURING THAT TIME  AND AGAIN, NO DRUGS WERE FOUND
IN THE BUILDING.       I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WAS A PARTICULAR REASON
THE SEARCH WAS MADE.

TREAT OR TREAT TIME IN MAQUOKETA WILL BE FROM 4 UNTIL 6 P.M. ON
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31ST.    AS FAR AS I KNOW, NOTHING ELSE IS PLANNED
FOR THE YOUTH THAT NIGHT.
SOME HALLOWEEN OUTDOOR DISPLAYS ARE UP AGAIN IN MAQUOKETA.
I'LL GET SOME PHOTOS REAL SOON.       THERE'S A GOOD NEW ONE ON WESTERN
AVENUE JUST NORTH AND UP THE STREET FROM  McDONALD'S.

NANCY AND I WILL BE IN ST.LOUIS SATURDAY NIGHT TO WATCH THE CARDINAL'S
PLAYOFF GAME AGAINST THE DODGERS.    IF YOU WILL BE THERE, LOOK US UP
IN SECTION 129.      YES...A LONG WAY FROM HOME PLATE.       I MIGHT BE ABLE
TO CATCH AN ALBERT PUHOLS HOMERUN.     GO CARDINALS.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN.

DENNIS VOY
