HOT TODAY, 92. SAME FORECAST FOR TOMORROW. SUMMER IS HERE!
ALTHOUGH THE RAIN LIMITED THE NUMBER OF PILOTS WHO FLEW IN TO THE MAQUOKETA AIRPORT FOR THE BREAKFAST YESTERDAY, THE EVENT WAS A SUCCESS.
IT WAS AGAIN SPONSORED BY THE MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST CLUB. ABOUT 650 HAD BREAKFAST, INCLUDING 13 PILOTS. THE 50-50 DRAWING WAS DONE BY THE
AIRPORT COMMISSION AND THE WINNER OF $280 WAS MARY BOCK OF MAQUOKETA.
FUEL CERTIFICATE WINNERS WERE MARTY SPIES OF DEWITT AND DICK KLEIS
OF ZWINGLE.
A MAQUOKETA MAN HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH HOMICIDE BY VEHICLE AFTER A PASSENGER DIED IN AN APRIL SINGLE CAR CRASH ON THE BELLEVUE-CASCADE ROAD. CHARGED WAS DONALD JAMES D.J. McLAUGHLIN. THE PASSENGER IN HIS VEHICLE, RYAN GARIEN, AGE 26, WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.
TIMBER CITY DAYS ARE THIS WEEKEND. MORE LATER ON THAT EVENT, SPONSORED BY THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
HAVE A GOOD TUESDAY. TRY TO KEEP COOL.
