THE EXISTING WOOD DUCK NESTING BOXES IN THE HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE
CENTER'S WETLAND WERE DESTROYED WITH THE 2008 FLOODS. THESE BOXES HAD PROVIDED WOOD DUCKS WITH A SAFE PLACE TO NEST AND HATCH THEIR
SPRING DUCKLINGS. ANDREW JOHNSON, FOR HIS EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT,
OVERSAW THE RECREATION OF THESE BOXES, ONCE AGAIN PROVIDING A SAFE
NESTING PLACE FOR THESE WOOD DUCKS, WHICH CAN BE VIEWED FROM THE
IMPROVED VIEWING DECK PICTURED BELOW.
