WE HAD SOME LIGHT RAIN THIS MORNING...THEN CLOUDY....THEN SUNSHINE, WHICH WE HAVE NOW. THE RELAY FOR LIFE FROM 6 P.M. TONIGHT UNTIL 6 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING, IS BEING HELD OVERNIGHT AT THE FAIRGROUNDS, BUT INSIDE INSTEAD OF OUTSIDE.
THE TIMBER CITY DAYS TEEN DANCE FOR TONIGHT WAS MOVED INTO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL GYM AROUND NOON TODAY AND NOW HAS BEEN MOVED BACK TO THE
DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT THAT HAS BEEN FENCED OFF FOR THE WEEKEND
EVENTS DOWNTOWN.
THE JACKSON COUNTY CONFERENCE BOARD LAST NIGHT APPROVED HIRING THE
VANGUARD COMPANY OF CEDAR RAPIDS TO DO NEW RESIDENTIAL APPRAISALS FOR
THE COUNTY, AT A COST OF $627,669. THE APPRAISALS WILL BE DONE IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS. AND THE END RESULT WILL BE HIGHER PROPERTY TAXES FOR
MOST IF NOT ALL.
MONDAY NIGHT, PUTTING UP TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT WEST PLATT AND MCKINSEY DRIVE WILL BE DISCUSSED BY THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL.
