IT IS NEARLY 11 A.M. THIS SATURDAY MORNING, AND THE PHOTO ABOVE I TOOK MINUTES AGO FROM IN FRONT OF KMAQ, LOOKING NORTH ON MAIN STREET.
THE 9TH ANNUAL TIMBER CITY RACE IS GOING ON NOW. THE FIRST CANOE WAS
PUT-IN AT CANTON SHORTLY AFTER 7:30 THIS MORNING. THE PARTIPANTS CANOE THE FIRST 8 MILES....THEN BIKE ANOTHER 15 MILES....AND THEN RUN THE FINAL PART OF THE COURSE FROM HURSTVILLE TO THE FINISH LINE IN FRONT OF KMAQ. A BEAUTIFUL MORNING FOR THIS RACE....TEMPERATURE AROUND 70 AND A 15 MILE-PER-HOUR BREEZE. TROPHIES TO THE WINNERS WILL BE PRESENTED
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. MORE ABOUT THE RACE LATER TODAY ON THIS SITE.
TIMBER CITY DAYS STARTED LAST NIGHT WITH KIDS GAMES AND A TEEN DANCE.
IT WILL CONCLUDE WITH THE FIREMEN'S BREAKFAST AT THE NEW FIRE STATION
TOMORROW MORNING. MAYOR MESSERLI AND FIRE CHIEF BECK WILL GIVEK TOURS FO THE NEW FIRE STATION WHILE THE BREAKFAST IS BEING SERVED.
