THE REPUBLICAN CHALLENGER IS REPUBLICAN JIM NUSTLE, OUR PRESENT CONGRESSMAN. WILL BE A CLOSE RACE.

THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS ARE CONTRACTING WITH A FIRM TO DO A FINAL CLEAN-UP OF CONTAMINATED SOIL AT THE FORMER TRUCK STOP ALONG HIGHWAY 61. IT WILL COST OVER $197,000 AND THE COUNTY WILL BE REIMBURSED BY THE STATE. ACTUALLY, ITS NOT A DONE DEAL YET. THE PLAN HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE STATE FOR APPROVAL BY THE STATE.
