LANNY (BURRIS) SIMPSON, OF MAQUOKETA, IS THE NEW JACKSON COUNTY FAIRBOARD MANAGER, REPLACING DOUG PRATT. SHE HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH OFFICE AND WILL LEAVE THERE AND START HER NEW JOB NOVEMBER 1ST. SHE WILL
MANAGE THE THE FAIR, THE FAIRGROUNDS, AND BOTH THE PEARSON AND BOYER BUILDINGS ON THE GROUNDS.
THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE RECEIVING NEW BULLET-PROOF VESTS AS THE RESULT OF A FEDERAL GRANT FOR NEARLY $3,500.
THE GRANT REQUIRES A 50% LOCAL MATCH.
NEW OFFICERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED FOR THE MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST
