THE DEMOCRATS MET LAST NIGHT AND VOTED TO RUN PAUL HAHLE OF MAQUOKETA FOR COUNTY SUPERVISOR. JACK ROSENBERG WAS ALSO NOMINATED, BUT THE 33 DELAGATES VOTED AND THE MAJORITY, NOT GIVEN OUT, WENT TO HAHLE. HE WILL NOW OPPOSE REPUBLICAN JACK WILLEY, UP FOR RE-ELECTION, IN NOVEMBER. WILLEY HAS SERVED IN THAT SEAT FOR 16 YEARS. HAHLE IS THE 5TH WARD MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCILMAN AND WOULD HAVE TO RESIGN THAT SEAT IF ELECTED SUPERVISOR. HE ALSO RUNS A BUSINESS IN TOWN ON EAST PLATT STREET CALLED THE OLD LUMBER YARD, IN THE BUILDING THAT FOR MANY YEARS WAS HOME OF THE GREEN BAY LUMBER COMPANY.
ALLEN BEHHART, AGE 49, DIED LAST NIGHT AFTER A BATTLE WITH CANCER. HIS COMPLETE OBITUARY CAN BE READ AT www.carsonandson.com
STEVE STUTTING, 51, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, DIED JULY 25TH.
PLACE OF DEATH WAS NOT GIVEN TO US. HE DIED FROM A LONG ILLNESS.
A GRAVESIDE SERVICE WILL BE THURSDAY AT 1:30 AT THE UNION CEMETERY, RURAL MAQUOKETA. HE PARENTS WERE MR. AND MRS. RUSS STUTTING, BOTH NO LONGER LIVING. HE HELPED HIS DAD YEARS AGO IN THE OPERATION A DOWNTOWN FURNITURE STORE AND I REMEMBER THAT HE DID SOME REMOTE BROADCASTS ON KMAQ FROM THE STORE FOR HIS DAD.
GOT MY HAIR CUT TODAY AND TEETH CLEANED....AND LOOK A GOOD
