ON THIS DATE IN 1982, THE PARKING METERS WERE RETIRED IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA. AND THERE WAS A CELEBRATION! THE FUN INCLUDED A PIE-THROWING AUCTION AND I PAID $14.00 TO THROW A PIE IN THE FACE OF THE LATE BOB MELVOLD, PUBLISHER OF THE MAQUOKETA NEWSPAPER. I ALSO BOUGHT ONE OF THE METERS WITH PLANS TO MOUNT IT ON A POLE AND PUT IT IN THE KMAQ LOBBY. IT IS STILL DOWNSTAIRS AND ON MY LIST OF THINGS TO DO.

HOW TIME FLIES.

AND TIME TO END THIS REPORT.
