WE TIED THE 1934 RECORD HIGH FOR THIS DATE.....58 DEGREES.

BUT, THEY SAY, WE COULD GET 4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY. AND VERY COLD WEATHER FOR THE WEEKEND.

THE "NO PIT BULLS IN MAQUOKETA" PART OF A CITY ORDINANCE WILL REMAIN IN THAT CITY ORDINACE. THAT WAS DECIDED LAST NIGHT AT A SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING. THE OWNERS OF THE PIT BULL THAT BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM UP FOR THE COUNCIL HAVE BEEN GIVEN UNTIL MARCH 1ST. TO FIND A HOME OUTSIDE OF MAQUOKETA FOR THE DOG.

SEN. TOM HARKIN ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT MAQUOKETA WILL RECEIVE A FEDERAL GRANT OF OVER $900,000 TO REHABILITATE THE MAQUOKETA AIRPORT RUNWAY.

LONGTIME CARDINAL ELEMENTRY PRINCIPAL SUSANNE BATY WILL RETIRE AT THE END OF THIS SCHOOL YEAR AND 43 APPLICANTS HAVE APPLIED FOR HER JOB. THE BOARD MAY BE INTERVIEWING FINALISTS ON FEBRUARY 25TH.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
