SPRING BEGINS MARCH 20TH.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS ALMOST WON THEIR 7TH. IN A ROW AT THE MCHS GYM LAST NIGHT. BUT THEN, WITH 2 SECONDS TO GO, DYERSVILLE SCORED A 3-POINTER AND THE CARDINALS LOST 61 TO 60.
THE NEW PREMIER HOME FURNISHINGS STORE ON NORTH MAIN STREET
OPENED THIS WEEK. FORMERLY THE HOME OF OWL FURNITURE.
THE STORE CARRIES A FULL LINE OF FURNITURE, WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCES, AND POOL TABLES AND OTHER TABLE GAMES.
THE OWNERS ARE TAMMY AND JIM SCHEBLER OF CLINTON. THEY OPENED THEIR CLINTON STORE A COUPLE YEARS AGO. THE STORE MANAGER IN MAQUOKETA IS MARK MICHELS.
WHAT ARE GROCERY MEAT PRICES IN MAQUOKETA THESE DAYS. WELL, IN TODAY'S FAREWAY STORE AD, I SEE THAT NEW YORK STRIP STEAKS ARE $6.99 A POUND AND LEAN, MEATY PORK STEAKS ARE 99 CENTS A POUND.
THE MAQUOKETA PROM THIS YEAR WILL BE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 22ND.
THE KIWANIS CLUB IS AGAIN GOING TO HAVE THE AFTER-PROM PARTY
AND IT WILL BE HELD AT TIMBER LANES. ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE BY POPULAR HYPNOTIST STEVE ATWOOD.
THE EXCHANGE BANK OF MAQUOKETA. MANY YEARS AGO, IT EXISTED.
BUT NO ONE KNOWS WHERE IT WAS LOCATED. ANYONE HAVING ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT SHOULD PUT IT ON THE KMAQ GUEST BOOK,
OR SEND IT TO ME AT BOX 940, MAQUOKETA.
TAKE CARE.
DENNIS VOY
