THE MAQUOKETA COUNCIL PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION WILL RECOMMEND TO THE FULL COUNCIL, THAT A STATE BID BE EXCEPTED, INSTEAD OF BUYING LOCALLY. THE SPECIFICATIONS THIS YEAR CALLED FOR A LARGER CAR BECAUSE OF TALLER AND LARGER OFFICERS WHO HAVE DIFFICULTY FITTING INTO A SMALLER CHEVY SQUAD CAR.
ONLY THE STATE BID MATCHED THE SPECS AND THE COST WILL BE $20,134 FOR A POLICE PACKAGE FORD.
