CLOUDY AND CLOSE TO 40 AGAIN TODAY.
WE ARE HOPING FOR SOME SUNSHINE SATURDAY.

J.C. ENGEL WAS ELECTED CHAIRMAN FOR 2006 OF THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS. THEY WILL START WORK ON THE UPCOMING BUDGET AT NOON NEXT TUESDAY.

OVER AN HOUR WAS SPENT DISCUSSING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
OPENING IN MAQUOKETA AT LAST NIGHT'S CITY COUNCIL MEETING.
AND NO PERMANENT SOLUTION WAS REACHED, SO WE WILL BE HEARING MORE ABOUT IT. LINDA STURTZ, WHO RETIRED AT END OF YEAR, WAS HIRED ON A
PART TIME BASIS FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY.

JOE AND JENNY LAW OF ANKENY ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN SATURDDAY, DEC 24TH AT A DES MOINES HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE KEN ADN SHERRYL CAVEN OF MAQUOKETA.

THE STATE OF THE STATE BY GOV. VILSACK WILL BE GIVEN NEXT TUESDAY MORNING AND KMAQ WILL BROADCAST HIS ANNUAL ADDRESS. BOTH SEN. ROGER STEWART AND REP. TOM SCHUELLER ARE HEADING TO DES MOINES MONDAY
FOR THE START OF THE 2006 LEGISLATIVE SESSION.

BILL MOLER'S ANNUAL WALL TO WALL SALE IS UNDERWAY.....A SALE THAT HAS BEEN A JANAURY EVENT FOR OVER 30 YEARS. LOTS OF OTHER AFTER-HOLIDAY SALES ALSO GOING ON NOW.

ROSE BOWL GAME IS TONIGHT...GUESS I WILL CHEER FOR TEXAS....IF FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN I LIVED THERE WHILE IN THE ARMY IN THE EARLY 60'S.
