PARTLY SUNNY TODAY AND HIGH OF 60.

BRIGG'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WILL CELEBRATE 50 YEARS TOMORROW. STUDENTS WILL HAVE AN ASSEMBLY AT 2 P.M. THE SCHOOL WILL BE OPEN ALL DAY FOR TOURS. AN OPEN HOUSE IS PLANNED FROM 5:30 UNTIL 7 P.M. A RIBBON CUTTING AND SHORT SPEECHES ARE PLANNED FOR 6 P.M.
PAST PRINCIPALS DOUG SCHERMER AND CLEM BODENSTIENER WILL BE PRESENT. CURRENT PRINCIPAL IS PAT BOLLMAN.

THE MAQUOKETA VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM WILL START AT 8:45 TOMORROW MORNING AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. THE ADDRESS WILL BE GIVEN BY PASTOR MEL VALDEZ OF THE METHODIST CHURCH.

A LONGTIME JACKSON COUNTY LAWYER (52 YEARS) DIED YESTERDAY AT A DUBUQUE HOSPITAL.
ERWIN E. STAMP, AGE 85. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, 1 SON AND 4 DAUGHTERS. ONE OF THE DAUGHTERS IS JUDIE KLEIS OF BALDWIN. ALL OTHER CHILDREN ARE OUTSIDE JACKSON COUNTY.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF MANY ORGANIZATIONS. HE WAS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF THE PEARSON MEMORIAL BOARD, THE BOARD THAT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR BUILDING THE PEARSON MEMORIAL CENTER AT THE FAIRGROUNDS, FOLLOWING A LARGE GIFT OF MONEY FROM MR. PEARSON. I SERVED ON THAT BOARD WITH HIM FOR MANY OF THOSE YEARS AND HE WAS STILL A MEMBER. I THINK THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM WAS AT OUR LAST MEETING.

THE #1 RATED BELLEVUE MARQUETTE GIRLS PLAY AT 1 TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT THE STATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT IN CEDAR RAPIDS. KMAQ WILL BROADCAST THE MATCH.

"THE POLAR EXPRESS" CHRISTMAS MOVIE FOR KIDS STARTS NATIONWIDE TONIGHT AND ALSO HERE IN MAQUOKETA. ONE YOU WILL WANT TO TAKE THE GRANDKIDS TO.

AT AGE 84, RED HENTON HAS JOINED THE MAQUOEKTA ROTARY CLUB. GOOD GOING RED.
