TODAY'S HIGH WAS 76...

THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT IS LOOKING FOR DONATIONS TO GET A DOG TO HELP IN INVESTIGATIONS. THE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO ESTABLISH A CANINE UNIT. THE DOG WILL COST $15,000.

DARLENE BENNETT, 78, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED TUESDAY EVENING AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS.
SURVIVORS INCLUDE 4 CHILDREN, INCLUDING ROBIN BENNETT OF MAQUOKETA.
SHE WAS A FARMWIFE.

ROBERT "BOB" DRUM, 62, OF MAQUOKETA DIED YESTERDAY AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS.
HE WAS AN AUTO MECHANIC....WORKED FOR CARL'S DX AND LATER BARTEN AUTO AND ALSO DID CONSTRUCTION WORK AND WAS A SEMI TRUCK DRIVER. SURIVORS INCLUDE 4 CHILDREN, INCLUDING WENDY MANG OF MAQUOKETA AND RON RIORDAN OF MAQUOKETA. ALSO A SISTER IN MAQUOKETA, CONNIE CRESSEY.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS TENNIS TEAM DEFEATED MT. VERNON YESTERDAY, 9 TO 0.
